The Energy Management and Sustainability Team plans and manages the PWCS energy and sustainability program to expand environmental literacy among staff, students, and the community. To accomplish this, the team improves environmental and fiscal stewardship pertaining to facilities through leadership, management, and environmentally conscious design. The team analyzes each building’s sustainability metrics, including energy efficiency and dependency on fossil fuels. Sustainability reports are disseminated based on these metrics.
Pathways to indoor and outdoor learning experiences are provided, including avenues for utilizing the school building as a teaching tool, and roadmaps for professional development that support the PWCS Profile of the Graduate. The divisionwide community is encouraged to understand that an individual's behavior can impact the environment.
The team believes that by providing pathways to sustainability, every school can be a green school.
