About Justin David Wilk

Justin David Wilk is a graduate of the University of Virginia’s Curry School of Education, where he earned a master’s degree in public education leadership. He received his B.A. in political theory and constitutional democracy from Michigan State University in 2006. He has served for six years on the Safe Schools Advisory Council, three years on the Regional Special Education Board, and is currently the country at-large representative on the Prince William County Committee for Persons with Disabilities. Before his election, Mr. Wilk was a member of PWEA, PWFT, and an appointed member of the county’s Solid Waste Management Committee for the Woodbridge District.

Mr. Wilk began his educational career in Prince William County Public Schools in 2007 as a 7th-grade civics and economics teacher at Woodbridge Middle School. He helped pilot Prince William County’s same-gender teaching program and served as assistant football coach, assistant track coach, head track coach, and drama advisor. He was also a representative on Principal Skyles Calhoun’s Advisory Council.

Seeking new opportunities, Mr. Wilk transferred to Gainesville Middle School, where he taught 8th-grade Civics and Economics for three years. He gained local press attention for his innovative presidential election project in 2012, encouraging student involvement in local politics.

Currently, Mr. Wilk works for a company that provides modified and adaptive curriculum for special needs students. He has been the Potomac District Representative on the Prince William County School Board for nearly nine years, attending over 2,275 events. Mr. Wilk is active in the autism community, a former member of PWC-SEPTA, and a participant in Ashland Elementary’s Purple Star and DEI Committees.

Mr. Wilk is married to Lori Spitzer-Wilk, a 20-year veteran teacher at Forest Park High School, and they have two sons, Dominic and Jackson, who attend Prince William County Public Schools.
