Planning for capital improvements is an ongoing process. Priorities shift as conditions change at individual facilities, programs change, and the student population totals change. Prioritizing the work, with the available funding to address the most critical needs, is an ever-present challenge. Examining student enrollment growth within school attendance areas and school program capacities determines the need for additional space for students.
Building new school facilities and additions to existing school facilities addresses the overwhelming need for additional classrooms; where possible, additions are utilized as cost-effective alternatives to the construction of new facilities.
