College and Career Ready Virginia (CCRV) is an initiative that expands access to dual enrollment courses for high school juniors and seniors.
Eligible students earn college credits at no tuition cost* through a partnership between Prince William County Public Schools (PWCS) and Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA).
*There is no tuition cost for students and families for CCRV courses; however, some courses may have fees for required textbooks or course materials.
Registration for the fall 2026 semester will close on July 1, 2026.
Through CCRV, students have access to two pathways: the Uniform Certificate of General Studies and the Passport Program. Both pathways are widely accepted by Virginia’s public colleges and universities.
To participate in NOVA’s CCRV Pathway, students must:
Students must meet one of the following eligibility requirements:
Placement testing is available through NOVA if a student does not meet one of the academic eligibility requirements. Please reach out to your high school counselor to find out more information.
Some courses have additional academic eligibility requirements and/or required prerequisites.
NOVA has outlined PWCS high school courses that meet the Passport and UCGS pathway block requirements. Each PWCS high school has a specific CCRV Program Pathway that aligns with its in-person dual enrollment course offerings.
Each school’s CCRV Program Pathway identifies classes that are offered in person by a credentialed instructor at the school that meet CCRV Pathway block requirements.
Students must take in-person classes at their high school if they are available.
If a school does not offer a class needed to fulfill a CCRV Pathway block requirement in their school's CCRV Program Pathway, students can take an online course through NOVA to fulfill the pathway block requirement.
Students must take the courses outlined in the school's CCRV Program Pathway.
Online courses are asynchronous, with all assessments proctored virtually.
Students will not be able to take an online course if an in-person class that fulfills the pathway block requirement is available.
These are the school-specific pathways for fall 2026:
These courses taken through CCRV provide both high school and college credit. Upon successful completion of a NOVA course, students will earn the corresponding high school credit. All dual enrollment courses count as weighted high school credits. After completing the CCRV online course, students must submit an unofficial NOVA transcript to their high school counselor to be awarded the high school credit.
