Application Process

Research Your Options

Review specialty program information and determine if the Practical Nursing program is one of the specialty programs you would like to apply for.

Gather Required Information

Applicants applying to the Practical Nursing program will need the following information before completing the application:

Adults Learners Only

  • Contact information - name, address, phone number, and email address
  • Prior college certificate/degree experience, if applicable; current and most recent employer’s business/organization name and job title, if applicable.

All Applicants

  • Availability for admissions testing – applicants will be asked to provide a first, second, and third choice exam date between March 23-27, 2026. Sessions will be held each day at 9 a.m. and 12 p.m.

Complete the Online Application

Applications for the 2026-27 school year are currently closed. Applications will reopen for the 2027-28 school year in November 2026.

Current PWCS students

Application Instructions for non-PWCS students and adult students

These instructions are for non-PWCS students and adult students ONLY.

Step 1: Review eligibility criteria and the application process

  • If you have questions, email Anna Haynes, the program coordinator at [email protected].

Step 2: Complete the Contact Information section

  • Carefully review and confirm all contact information is correct. This information will be used to contact the applicant during the application process.

Step 3: Complete Application Information section

  • Read and verify understanding of the acknowledgment statement regarding providing a Social Security number for clinical experiences and NCLEX licensure.
  • Complete the Educational and Employment Experience questions related to current and previous education and/or employment, if applicable.
  • Read and verify understanding of the acknowledgment regarding the requirement to provide an official U.S. high school transcript, GED certificate, or an out-of-country transcript evaluation from a NACES member evaluation agency indicating that the transcript is equivalent to a U.S. high school diploma (or higher).

Step 4: Complete the Admission Testing section

  • Review the Admissions Testing information.
  • Select your first, second, and third choice for a date and time for admissions testing between March 23-27, 2026.
  • Select NO for all times other than the first, second, and third choices.

Step 5: Complete the Required Recommendation section

  • Enter the name, email address, and relationship of a professional reference.
  • It is the responsibility of the applicant to notify this person that they will receive an email requesting a recommendation form.
  • Recommendation forms must be received by February 10, 2026.

Step 6: Submit Application

  • Review the steps of the application process again before submitting the form.
  • Print or save a copy of your complete application for your records.

Prepare for the admission test and interview

  • Review the LPN Admission Study Guide to prepare for admission testing.
  • Monitor your email between February 15-28, for notification confirming your assigned Admissions Testing session (date and time). If you do not receive an email by February 28, please contact Anna Haynes at [email protected] to follow up and request an exam date.

Reminders for Adults Applicants

  • An official U.S. high school transcript, GED certificate, or transcript evaluation is required to complete your application.
  • It is the applicant’s responsibility to have an official transcript emailed or mailed to the Practical Nursing Program Coordinator, Anna Haynes.

  • For International Students
    • Visit the NACES member evaluation agency website for instructions on how to get your transcript evaluated.
    • Ensure the evaluation states it is equivalent to an American High School diploma or higher.
    • The evaluation must be received by February 1, 2026.
