The National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA) has recognized Prince William County Public Schools (PWCS) with three NSPRA Golden Achievement Awards and numerous Publications and Digital Media Excellence Awards.
“I am very proud of our communications team for their passionate work supporting the vision and mission of PWCS,” said Diana Gulotta, director of communications. “In addition to recognizing the team’s efforts to effectively communicate with our stakeholders, the NSPRA awards program also provides specific feedback on our work, which is valuable to our commitment to continuous improvement.”
Each year, more than 100 experienced communication professionals from around the country volunteer to serve as judges in NSPRA's National School Communication Awards contest using a set of established criteria based on industry best practices.
This year, PWCS earned three out of 107 Golden Achievement Awards, recognizing exemplary work in all aspects of school public relations, communications, marketing and engagement. PWCS’ award-winning projects include: the creation of the PWCS Spanish Facebook page, which increased connectedness and improved communication with our Spanish-speaking families as part of our commitment to family and community engagement; an innovative recruiting and marketing strategy to help staff high-needs positions in the division; and a communications plan to inform the PWCS community about the implementation of safety screening technology in the division's middle and high schools. PWCS is one of only three school divisions in Virginia to earn a Golden Achievement Award this year.
PWCS also earned seven Publications and Digital Media Excellence Awards in the categories of branding/image, infographics, in-house videos, special purpose publications, and the school calendar.
