
The Alliance for a Healthier Generation, a leading children’s health organization, recognized seven Prince William County Public Schools (PWCS) as America’s Healthiest Schools 2024 awardees. This year, 879 schools across 30 states were awarded this honor. In Virginia, a total of eight schools were named America’s Healthiest Schools, with seven of them being from PWCS. Congratulations to the following schools on receiving this nationwide recognition: Ashland, Buckland Mills, Kilby, Minnieville, Piney Branch and Victory Elementary Schools, as well as Parkside Middle School.
This highly regarded, annual distinction is awarded to schools for demonstrating exceptional efforts to prioritize the essential health needs of the school community.
PWCS awardees were recognized in nine categories:
Healthier Generation Chief Executive Officer Kathy Higgins praised the awardees for their continued commitment to school health.
