PWCS named one of the Best Communities for Music Education

The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Foundation has named Prince William County Public Schools (PWCS) as one of the Best Communities for Music Education for the sixth year in a row.

In its 26th year, the Best Communities for Music Education recognition is awarded to school districts that demonstrate outstanding achievement in providing music access and education to all students.

“I am incredibly proud to be recognized for our sixth consecutive year as a NAMM Best Community for Music Education,” said Dr. Annamarie Bollino, PWCS supervisor of the arts. “This prestigious honor is a testament to the passion, talent, and tireless efforts of our music educators, students, leaders, families, and greater community. In PWCS, music is more than a program—it's a powerful force that inspires creativity, builds connections, and enriches the lives of students. This recognition celebrates our shared commitment to making music education a vibrant and essential part of our schools.”

To qualify for this distinction, PWCS answered detailed questions about funding, graduation requirements, music class participation, instruction time, facilities, and support for the music program and community music-making programs. Responses were verified by school officials and reviewed by the leading arts educational research firm WolfBrown.

“This award is a powerful testament to the dedication of schools that prioritize music education. At the NAMM Foundation, we believe that every child deserves access to quality music programs, and we are honored to shine a spotlight on those who are leading the way,” shared Julia Rubio, executive director of the NAMM Foundation.
