PWCS students reading

Happy summer break PWCS! As you enjoy the sunshine, make sure your reading doesn’t take a vacation. Whether it’s diving into a favorite series, exploring new genres, or joining a local reading challenge, there are countless ways to make reading a fun and enriching part of summer break.

  • Sign up for the Prince William Public Library summer reading program.
  • Listen to an audiobook in the car. There are thousands of audiobooks are available through the Prince William Public Library!
  • Plan out theme weeks for reading such as "Mystery Week" or "Fantasy Week" and choose books that fall into those categories.
  • Encourage students to research topics that interest them using World Book Online from home over the summer. This could be vacation spots, sports, heroes, or science concepts!
  • Play a new board game. Learning and playing a new board game requires players to read and understand the rules, instructions, and game cards, and it’s a lot of fun.

Enjoy your summer break, and we look forward to reading together this fall!
