Dear PWCS Families, Employees, and Community,
The end of the second marking period is Thursday, January 22. Middle and high school report cards will be mailed on January 30; elementary school report cards will be posted to ParentVUE no later than January 30.
During this time of year, PWCS begins preparations for the 2026-27 school year and budget. The Superintendent’s Fiscal Year 2027 Proposed Budget and Capital Improvement Program (CIP) are designed to guide and support the PWCS Elevate 2030 Strategic Plan.
Earlier this week, in a livestreamed work session, we shared the proposed CIP for FY 2027-31 with the School Board. As a reminder, the CIP is a management tool for addressing changes in enrollment patterns and the use of facilities in ways consistent with sound educational practices. With construction costs increasing and student enrollment declining, these factors offer crucial context as the Board considers long-term planning and budget priorities. Please visit the PWCS website for more details on the CIP, including the budget timeline, to stay informed about our priorities for next year.
As a reminder, PWCS will be closed on Monday, January 19, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Additionally, Friday, January 23, and Monday, January 26, are non-student attendance days due to scheduled teacher workdays, parent conferences, and professional development.
As you observe the school holiday on Monday, I encourage you to take time to reflect on Dr. King’s impact and participate in a community service project. Together, let’s honor his legacy through kindness and engagement.
Sincerely,

LaTanya D. McDade, Ed.D.
Superintendent
