Dear Prince William County Public Schools Families, Staff, and Community,

Last week, we committed to providing you with updates on the Prince William County budget and its impact on our schools. At its meeting last night, the Prince William Board of County Supervisors (BOCS) acted on the final Fiscal Year 2027 county budget, restoring most of the funding that Prince William County Public Schools had planned to receive under the revenue-sharing agreement. This outcome ensures continued delivery of high-quality educational services to meet the needs of our students, staff, and community. We thank the BOCS for supporting the needs of our students, teachers, and schools.

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to the many parents, staff members, and community stakeholders who made their voices heard throughout the budget process. Your engagement and commitment to our schools played a meaningful role in this outcome.

As a result of this action, the compensation increases for teachers and staff outlined in the School Board’s adopted budget will move forward as planned. In addition, the new athletic opportunities and other student programs included in the adopted budget will be implemented as originally announced.

We remain committed to providing a high-quality education for every student and to supporting the dedicated professionals who serve them each day. Thank you for your continued partnership and support of Prince William County Public Schools.

Sincerely,

Prince William County Public Schools
