PWCS provides students in grades K-12 with school-issued iPads to provide access to curriculum, learning resources, accessibility tools, and opportunities to create, communicate, and collaborate. iPads are one of many tools used to support learning and complement hands-on activities, classroom discussion, writing, and teacher instruction.
School-issued iPads come with a protective case (that included a keyboard for grades 2–12), a charger, and a cable.
Students are expected to return all accessories in working condition when the iPads are collected by the school at the end of the school year.
School-issued iPads have AppleCare that covers repairs for mechanical and hardware failures. AppleCare does not provide coverage for loss or theft.
Families can purchase optional student device insurance, which provides additional coverage for eligible damage, loss, and theft. Learn more about student device insurance through Securranty.
School staff assist students with setting up their school-issued iPad and PWCS Apple ID.
PWCS uses a device management system to configure, update, and maintain school-issued iPads so students have access to the tools they need for learning in a secure and consistent environment.
Because many device settings are managed by PWCS, students and families cannot modify certain settings or access features such as the App Store.

PWCS does not require families to purchase iPad accessories. If a specific accessory is suggested or required for a class, information will be shared by the student's school or teacher.
School-issued iPads support a variety of accessories, including:
For support with specific accessories used by students with an IEP or 504 plan, families should contact the student’s case manager.
Before purchasing accessories for a school-issued iPad, verify that they are compatible with your student's assigned iPad model.
Compatibility varies by iPad model, and not all Bluetooth accessories are supported by PWCS device management settings.
To find your student's iPad model:
Did you know iPads can do that?
School-issued iPads include built-in features and apps that can help students create, stay organized, work efficiently, and demonstrate their learning.
If a school-issued iPad is not working as expected, start with these basic troubleshooting steps:
Report the damage, loss, or theft to the student's school as soon as possible. Do not attempt to repair a damaged iPad. School staff will determine the appropriate repair or replacement process, coordinate necessary follow-up, and provide additional information as needed.
If basic troubleshooting does not resolve the issue, students and families should contact the student's school for assistance. School staff can help with common device issues and coordinate additional technical support when needed.
If additional assistance is needed, contact the PWCS Customer Contact Center.
