The Planning and Capital Improvement Program team supports the long-term success of our school division by providing data-driven insight, strategic analysis, and technical expertise to inform sound decision-making. We play a central role in supporting the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) by using predictive analytics to forecast enrollment, assess facility needs, and develop strategies to effectively manage and optimize the division’s large portfolio of capital assets. This work ensures that schools are built, expanded, and maintained in alignment with current conditions and future growth.
Our team also leads school redistricting efforts and produces residential development impact statements in coordination with Prince William County Government, helping decision-makers understand how new housing and development will affect students, schools, and infrastructure. In addition, we provide enterprise-level Geographic Information Systems (GIS) services, including the development of interactive maps, websites, dashboards, and applications that make complex data accessible to staff, leadership, and the public.
Beyond facilities and enrollment, the Planning and Capital Improvement Program team partners across departments to support strategic initiatives and long-range planning efforts. By integrating analytics, GIS, and policy-aware planning practices, we help ensure the division is prepared for growth, responsive to change, and positioned to deliver high-quality educational environments for all students.
