Launching, Learning, Leading Induction Conference

Welcome to PWCS!

All new certified hires joining Prince William County Public Schools (PWCS) for the 2026-27 school year are required to attend the Launching, Learning, Leading (LLL) induction conference.

Conference Overview

This year's conference kicks off with division-led sessions at Colgan High School, followed by school-based orientation at the employee's assigned school/work location for the afternoon on August 13. LLL concludes on August 14 at Colgan High School with a full-day session for educators.

This event is for PWCS staff only; childcare services will not be available.

Thursday, August 13

Half-Day Division-Led Induction Information

Required audience: All newly hired certified employees joining PWCS, including first-year Participate Learning teachers and first-year Teaching Professionals on Temporary Assignment (TPOTA).

  • Date: Thursday, August 13, 2026
  • Time: 8:30–10:55 a.m.
  • Location: Colgan High School, 13833 Dumfries Rd., Manassas, VA 20112

Additional Details

  • Includes welcome and orientation sessions.
  • Lunch to go will be provided.
  • Note: Attendance is not required for the division-led conference if you have attended an induction conference or were employed by PWCS in a certified role in the last three years. However, you must still attend school-based orientation the afternoon of August 13.

  • 8:30 - 9:30 a.m. - Welcome to PWCS Overview (Auditorium)
  • 9:45 - 10:55 a.m. - Grade Level/Content-Specific Session
  • 10:55 a.m. - Noon - Boxed lunch distribution and travel to schools

  • Time: 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
  • Location: Colgan High School, 13833 Dumfries Rd., Manassas, VA 20112

Additional Details

  • Professional learning in alignment with the PWCS Strategic Plan with focused support for educators on classroom management and understanding and accessing position-specific standards and curriculum.
  • Educators should bring their school-issued devices to the session.
  • Lunch will be provided
  • Note: Attendance is not required if you have attended an induction conference or were employed by PWCS in a certified role in the last three years.

Due to the anticipated heavy traffic during arrival and departure at Colgan High School, participants should plan accordingly.
