How to Apply

  1. Submit an Application for Instructional Employment

    Candidates must first complete an online application for instructional employment with PWCS.

  2. Develop and Submit an Instructional Technology Coach (ITC) Portfolio

    Applicants create and submit an ITC portfolio aligned to PWCS criteria and ISTE Standards for Coaches. Portfolios are reviewed during scheduled review windows.

  3. Participate in a Screening Interview

    Candidates whose portfolios meet expectations are invited to a screening interview with the Instructional Technology leadership team.

  4. Admission to the ITC Candidate Pool

    Successful screening results in placement into the PWCS ITC candidate pool. Only candidates in the pool are eligible to interview for ITC vacancies.

  5. Apply for Open ITC Positions

    Once in the pool, candidates may apply and interview for open ITC positions at schools as vacancies are posted.

ITC Portfolio Guidelines

Instructional Technology Coach candidates must complete a portfolio as part of the application process. The portfolio is submitted as a link to an online site created by the candidate that addresses the topics in the ITC Portfolio Guidelines document. The portfolio should:

  • Provide evidence and artifacts of integrating technology into teaching and learning.
  • Demonstrate competency in providing professional learning, specifically coaching.
  • Provide evidence of leadership skills.
  • Document any instructional technology micro-credentials or coursework.

The website must be the applicant's original work. Items created with another person or group may be included with the names of all participants listed.

Guidelines for ITC Portfolio

Responsibilities of PWCS ITCs

  • Provides job-embedded professional learning focused on the integration of technology into instruction through coaching, co-teaching, modeling lessons, sharing ideas, schoolwide demonstrations to staff, and co-planning to support adult learning.
  • Develops and delivers professional learning to introduce educators to technology integration methods, materials, and instructional strategies proven to increase student achievement.
  • Keeps current with new and emerging technologies and their application in content areas.
  • Identifies and providing technology training in school buildings.
  • Serves as a liaison between the Office of the Chief Information Officer and the Office of Teaching and Learning programs and initiatives, schools, and other administrative offices as needed.
  • Leads educators in integrating technology effectively for differentiating instruction, assessing student learning, and providing rigorous, relevant, and engaging learning for all students.
  • Analyzes disaggregate student learning results from a variety of data sources and uses data about participant gains in knowledge and satisfaction levels to determine adult learning needs.

Every PWCS school has an Instructional Technology Coach. ITCs coach and partner with teachers to support the effective integration of technology to create authentic, relevant, and engaging learning experiences.
