Prince William County Public Schools (PWCS) supports and sponsors a number of mathematics competitions throughout our schools.
The PWCS Elementary and Middle School Math Tournaments will be held at Benton Middle School on Saturday, April 18, 2026.
These tournaments are an opportunity for elementary and middle school students to demonstrate mathematical thinking, problem-solving skills, and collaboration through both individual and team-based challenges. In both the individual and team portions, students will solve ten problems in a 30-minute period.
Elementary Schools (Grades 4-5) may register one team of 2–5 students.
Middle Schools (Grades 6-8) may register up to two teams, each consisting of 2–5 students.

The Mathematical Olympiads for Elementary and Middle Schools is a contest for students in grades 4-8, and it is, like MATHCOUNTS, a problem-solving contest. There are two parallel contests for grades 4-6 and grades 6-8, and these take place in five parts, one each month from November through March. The school or math club hosting the contest decides when and where to hold each of the five sessions.
