Collage of photos from the PWCS’ 2025 Retiree Ceremony

Dear PWCS Families, Employees, and Community,

During our retirement ceremony on Tuesday night, I had the privilege of acknowledging our esteemed PWCS professionals who have demonstrated exceptional service over many decades. To all PWCS retirees, we extend our heartfelt congratulations for the enduring legacy you have created and wish you success in your future endeavors.

I invite our PWCS community to join us from 6:30-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 22, for a live webinar, “Stop the Scroll, Take Control – PWCS Cell Phone Policy,” to learn about the new cell phone policy for the 2025-26 school year. Discover research that supports the need for a cell phone-free education and explore strategies and resources for a collaborative approach to healthy electronic device usage. We hope to see you there.

Speaking of student wellness, as part of National Mental Health Awareness Month, this is a perfect time to congratulate Forest Park High School, Parkside and Ronald Reagan Middle Schools, and Porter Traditional School, as Recognized American School Counselor Association Model Programs for 2025. I am thrilled by the outstanding work of our school counselors in meeting the unique needs of each student.

I also want to recognize Better Hearing and Speech Month and the transformative work of our teachers, certified interpreters, and speech-language pathologists, who ensure students with hearing and speech impairments feel included in the classroom and are learning and achieving at high levels.

As a reminder, registration for Discovery Enrichment programs and K-8 summer school closes on May 23. High school registration ends June 6. For more information, please visit the Summer Programs page.

Thank you all for your continued support and commitment to our students and community, and together, let us strive to make the remainder of the school year impactful and memorable.

Sincerely,
