Dear PWCS Families, Employees, and Community,
Congratulations, Class of 2025!
The PWCS graduating Class of 2025 has demonstrated resilience, leadership, and a deep commitment to personal growth and academic success. Whether in the classroom, on the field, or in service to others, they have left an enduring impact on our schools and community. Their journey reflects the strength of our vision – to see every student graduate on time with the knowledge, skills, and habits of mind necessary to create a thriving future for themselves and their community.
We are honored to acknowledge our seniors as they don their caps and walk across the stage to receive their well-deserved diplomas. Our graduates’ future is full of possibilities, and we believe in the power of their potential.
PWCS is proud of Neabsco Elementary School’s Lydia Larimore, who has been named the 2025 Virginia School Counselor Association Elementary School Counselor of the Year for her outstanding work with PWCS students, families, and staff. Her application will now be considered for the American School Counselor Association National School Counselor of the Year. Congratulations, Ms. Larimore!
We are excited to announce that PWCS has started the transition to a new bus tracking app, EZ A2B, which will replace Here Comes The Bus. We started the first phase of this transition in April by piloting the app with select buses. We are now more than a month into the first phase of the transition, and we have received valuable input that is helping us enhance the app’s functionality and user experience.
The second phase will begin this summer, with PWCS Summer School buses using the EZ A2B app. All summer school families will receive detailed information before the end of the school year to support a smooth transition. Looking ahead, all PWCS buses will be tracked using EZ A2B beginning with the 2025-26 school year.
The PWCS Strategic Plan Commitment 2 - Positive Climate and Culture emphasizes our dedication to creating a welcoming, safe, and inclusive environment for all students, staff, and community. The month of June is nationally recognized as LGBTQ+ Pride Month. In PWCS, we celebrate and honor every member of our learning community and remain committed to a respectful and supportive learning environment for every student and employee every day.
As a reminder, June 12 is the last day of school and will be an early-release day.
Sincerely,
LaTanya D. McDade, Ed.D.
