The tastiest Discovery Enrichment Program yet! It was a week full of creativity at the Flavors of the World: A Culinary World Tour camp, held at The Nokesville School and Brentsville District High School.

Designed for students in grades 5–8, this one-week summer experience took young chefs on a flavorful journey across cultures and continents.

Each day, students explored a new country or culture through hands-on cooking activities that introduced them to basic culinary concepts, kitchen safety, and the joy of multicultural exploration.

From baking gooey brownies to crafting veggie spring rolls and whipping up homemade pretzels with cheese sauce, the kitchen was filled with impassioned young chefs and delicious aromas.

The program culminated in a Friday finale, where students invited their families to enjoy a full menu of their culinary creations. Students handled everything—from seating guests to cooking and serving their specialties.

When asked if participating in this camp encouraged them to take greater initiative in cooking at home, several students smiled and gave an excited “yes!” as their answer.

Courtney, a parent of an attendee, wrote this review of the camp: “This was a wonderful camp! My daughter can’t wait to attend again next year.” Another parent added that it “was an incredible week for our girl.”

It was a celebration of learning, culture, and community—one bite at a time.
