Dear PWCS Families, Employees, and Community,
As we reach the halfway point of the third quarter, I encourage all families to check in on your students’ academic progress and well-being. Great resources to help monitor student progress and assignments include ParentVUE and Canvas. If your student needs academic support, please reach out to your child’s teacher or school counselor, as we are committed to helping every student succeed.
As we conclude Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month and begin Women’s History Month, we are proud to spotlight Unity Reed High School’s public safety specialty program. Taught by two accomplished veteran women in fire and rescue, students are experiencing hands-on training and earning industry credentials in firefighting and EMT services. Among the 32 students enrolled are three young women pursuing careers in a field where women remain underrepresented. Their enrollment demonstrates both the power of CTE pathways and the importance of expanding opportunity for all. I encourage you to read more about how our teachers and students are answering the call to serve their communities.
For planning in March, I invite families to participate in several upcoming Family Engagement Series events. Please register in advance.
As a reminder, please complete the Family Engagement Survey for each of your students. Thank you for your continued partnership in supporting our students and fostering a vibrant, inclusive PWCS community.
Sincerely,
LaTanya D. McDade, Ed.D.
