Collage of teachers in classrooms

Dear PWCS Families, Employees, and Community,

Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!

I want to again extend my heartfelt thanks to the remarkable teachers across PWCS. Every day, our teachers inspire, support, and challenge our students to grow. Their dedication helps make our vision a reality, and I am deeply appreciative of the care and commitment our professionals bring to their work.

I also want to recognize our students, families, and staff as we continue through testing season. This time of year requires focus, perseverance, and partnership. Thank you to our students for giving their best effort, to our teachers and staff for preparing and encouraging them, and to our families for helping keep students supported, confident, and ready to succeed.

I am pleased to share that, beginning next school year, PWCS is expanding its partnership with George Mason University to simplify admissions for students at all PWCS high schools. This partnership reflects our strategic commitment to increasing access and opportunity for students as they prepare for life after high school.

Through the Direct Admissions Program, students graduating in the Class of 2027 who attend any PWCS high school and meet program requirements will be guaranteed admission to George Mason University. This is an important step forward in helping more students see a clear and attainable path to higher education. Families of students in the Class of 2028 and beyond are encouraged to learn more about this opportunity now to plan ahead for senior year.

As we head into the weekend, I also want to wish a very Happy Mother’s Day to all PWCS mothers and mother figures. Thank you for the love, strength, and encouragement you provide each day. I hope you have a restful and joyful weekend.

Sincerely,
Dr. McDade signature
