Dear PWCS Families, Employees, and Community,
PWCS is so excited for the start of the 2026-27 school year! I hope you and your family have enjoyed a restful summer and are eager for another year of learning, growth, and opportunity at Prince William County Public Schools.
As we prepare to welcome students back, I want to thank our teachers, principals, support staff, bus drivers, custodians, food and nutrition teams, and every employee who has spent the summer preparing for a successful opening. Their dedication ensures our schools are ready to provide safe, engaging, and inspiring learning environments from the very first day.
This school year also marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter with the launch of the PWCS Elevate 2030 Strategic Plan. I encourage you to visit our website to explore the plan, learn about our commitments and goals, and see how together we will continue to advance academic excellence, innovation, student well-being, and family engagement.
As you prepare for the first day of school, I encourage all families to visit our Back to School Guide webpage for important information, updates, and reminders. While you are there, please complete the Annual Back to School Packet in ParentVUE.
Please note that the vendor has updated the ParentVUE and StudentVUE mobile apps for the 2026-27 school year, and previous versions are no longer active. Most back to school tasks, including completing the Annual Back to School Packet, viewing teacher assignments, and accessing transportation information, begin in ParentVUE and StudentVUE. Please be sure to download the new ParentVUE and StudentVUE apps to receive important back to school information.
While updating information, please verify that your child’s immunization records are current. Required immunizations and documentation need to be submitted before the first day of school on August 24. If your student needs updated vaccinations or additional documentation, please contact your healthcare provider and submit the required records to your school’s clinic as soon as possible. No-cost immunization opportunities can be found on our website.
Bus routes, stop locations, and stop times will be available this evening in ParentVUE. Because routes may change each year, we encourage families to confirm their student transportation information before the first day. I also want to remind families that the EZA2B bus app has been renamed EZArrival, which is available now.
Thank you for your continued partnership and trust in Prince William County Public Schools. Together, we will make the 2026-27 school year one filled with achievement, opportunity, and success for every student.
Sincerely,
LaTanya D. McDade, Ed.D.
