Prince William County Public Schools (PWCS) seeks public input on the memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Prince William County Police Department and the role of school resource officers in schools.

The MOU outlines the partnership between PWCS and school resource officers in fostering a positive climate and culture that is welcoming, supportive, and safe for students, faculty, and staff. Under the partnership, a school resource officer is integrated into the school community at every PWCS school that serves middle and high school students.

Virginia law requires PWCS and the Prince William County Police Department to review the MOU at least once every two years. As part of this regular review process, PWCS is seeking public input on the current MOU.

Parents, guardians, students, staff, and other community members may submit feedback through 11:59 p.m. on Friday, October 30, 2026.
