Direct Admissions to GMU

Direct Admissions to George Mason University

George Mason University logo

Beginning with the Prince William County Public Schools (PWCS) class of 2025, PWCS has entered into an innovative partnership with George Mason University to simplify the admissions process for students at select high schools. This partnership is part of PWCS strategic commitment to increase access and opportunity for students to post-high school education.

Students are eligible for the direct admissions program if they attend one of seven high schools and have a grade point average of 3.25 or higher. Students are guaranteed admissions to George Mason University if they meet meet the direct admissions program requirements.

Parents and guardians must opt-in in ParentVUE to share their student’s information with George Mason University to allow their student to participate in the direct admissions process. The deadline to opt-in is September 12, 2024, at 3 p.m.

Students who meet the direct admissions program requirements will receive the benefit of a streamlined admissions process and application, which includes an application fee waiver and does not require your student to submit an essay or letters of recommendation unless you are applying for the Honors College. You and your student can anticipate receiving correspondence directly from George Mason University towards the beginning of October.
