Smiling preschool student at family engagement event

Dear PWCS Families, Employees, and Community,

As we reach the halfway point through the third quarter, please be reminded that the last day of the third marking period is March 27. I encourage all families to check in on your student’s academic progress and well-being. Great resources to help monitor student progress and assignments include ParentVUE and Canvas. If your student needs academic support, please reach out to your child’s teacher or school counselor as we are committed to helping every student succeed.

I am excited to share that Read Across America Day will be celebrated on Sunday, March 2. This annual event encourages children and young adults to read and foster a love for literacy. I encourage families to participate by reading together at home and sharing your favorite books. Let’s work together to inspire our students to become enthusiastic about books, because a lifelong reader is a lifelong learner.

PWCS offers several opportunities for parents and guardians to positively impact their child’s education. PWCS continues to offer workshops and webinars through the Family Engagement Series and Parent Resource Center . As always, our sessions are free and provide crucial information to keep our PWCS families and communities informed and engaged as partners in education. We have many upcoming sessions, including:

We invite you to join us to celebrate the 25th annual Transition Fair on Saturday , March 15, from 10:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. This event, designed for our families and students in special education, provides a range of valuable resources and connections in the fields of employment, education, training, and independent living. Through structured information sessions, comprehensive informational booths, and strategic networking opportunities, attendees will have the chance to explore various options and gather essential information as they plan their transition to life after high school. Please secure your spot before the deadline at 5 p.m. on March 13.

Thank you for your continued support and dedication to our PWCS community.
