PWCS students wearing caps and gowns on graduation day

Dear PWCS Families, Employees, and Community,

Congratulations to the Osbourn Park High School girls basketball team on their incredible Class 6 state championship victory! It was an absolute privilege to attend the game and witness their hard work, resilience, and teamwork pay off on the court. Please join me in celebrating the OPHS girls basketball team and their well-earned achievement.

I am excited to invite our community to the Prince William-Manassas Regional Science and Engineering Fair this Saturday, March 22, at the Kelly Leadership Center. Our community can view student projects from 8-9 a.m. before judging begins. The Middle Division Award Ceremony is at 4 p.m., followed by the Senior Division at 5:15 p.m.

This year, 313 middle and high school students will present 224 projects. Judges, including members of our National Science Honor Society, will evaluate the projects. For more details, please visit the PWCS website.

I am pleased to announce the School Board approved the FY 2026 budget on Wednesday night. This budget is a significant investment in our students, staff, and schools, guided by the PWCS Vision 2025 Launching Thriving Futures Strategic Plan. With historic investments in student programs, employee compensation, and school operations, this budget reinforces our unwavering commitment to excellence in education. The FY 2026 budget will be shared with the Prince William Board of County Supervisors on April 1.

The third quarter closes next Thursday, March 27. I encourage all families to monitor student progress. ParentVUE and Canvas are great resources to help track student progress and assignments. If your student needs academic support, please reach out to your child’s teacher or school counselor, as we are committed to helping every student succeed.

As a reminder, next Friday, March 28 is a Teacher Workday and a non-attendance day for students. Additionally, on Monday, March 31, schools and offices will be closed in observance of Eid al-Fitr, which marks the end of fasting during Ramadan.

Sincerely,
