Dear PWCS Families, Employees, and Community,
Today marks the last day of the third marking period. I encourage all families to monitor student progress. ParentVUE and Canvas are great resources to help track student progress and assignments. If your student needs academic support, please reach out to your child’s teacher or school counselor, as we are committed to helping every student succeed.
For students and families looking for summer school and Discovery Enrichment programs, I invite you to join us from 6:30-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 9, for an informative webinar all about Prince William County Public Schools Summer 2026 opportunities. We will share what families need to know about summer school and our exciting Discovery Enrichment programs, including important dates, who can participate, and how to sign up. Please register for the webinar, and we look forward to seeing you there.
I would like to invite all high school students looking for summer employment, as well as high school seniors who plan to enter the workforce, military, or postsecondary training programs after graduation, to attend our Student Employment and Summer Job Fair. This job fair gives students the opportunity to learn more about a variety of career pathways and summer employment opportunities with local businesses. The job fair will be held from 5-7 p.m. on April 7 at Unity Reed High School. Registration and more information can be found on our website.
As the countdown to commencement begins, students and families are encouraged to regularly monitor graduation requirements online and stay in close contact with their school counselors and graduation coaches to make sure they are on track for this momentous occasion. Furthermore, reviewing and updating your child’s Student Vision Profile is a great way to help graduates plan for life after high school.
With graduation season quickly approaching, we are excited to celebrate the Class of 2026 and all they have accomplished. These ceremonies will mark an important milestone for our students and families as they reflect on years of hard work, growth, and perseverance. Families can view the full schedule of 2026 graduation ceremonies on the PWCS website.
As a reminder, Spring Break for students and teachers is March 30-April 3, and Monday, April 6, is a Teacher Workday. I hope you enjoy a restful and restorative break. We look forward to welcoming our students back for the final quarter on Tuesday, April 7.
Sincerely,
LaTanya D. McDade, Ed.D.
