Dear PWCS Families, Employees, and Community,
We are energized and eager to welcome our students back to Prince William County Public Schools for the first day of the 2026-27 school year on Monday, August 24!
Across PWCS this week, our teachers and staff have been preparing classrooms, engaging in professional learning, collaborating with colleagues, and putting the final pieces in place to launch another successful school year. As we prepare for Monday, I encourage families to make sure you are also ready for the first day.
Please visit our Back to School Guide webpage for important information, updates, and reminders, including completion of the Annual Back to School Packet in ParentVUE. I also encourage families to review class schedules, teacher assignments, and transportation information in ParentVUE or StudentVUE before Monday. As a reminder, PWCS has new ParentVUE and StudentVUE apps for this school year, and families using bus transportation should download the new EZArrival app.
As with every school year, it may take several days for transportation procedures, arrival and dismissal, and other routines, course scheduling and student agendas, to fully settle. We appreciate your patience and partnership as our students, families, bus drivers, teachers, and staff become accustomed to the new daily rhythms and processes.
I want to encourage families to review our PWCS website for information on school meals, Canvas, and the school year calendar. This information and more can also be found on your child’s school website, which will include school-based events, resources, partnerships, and back to school night dates.
Have a wonderful weekend. We are excited to see you on Monday, the first day of the new school year!
Sincerely,
LaTanya D. McDade, Ed.D.
Superintendent
