Dietary Accommodations
PWCS must provide dietary accommodations for children on a case-by-case basis when requests are supported by a written medical statement signed by a licensed healthcare provider, including a licensed physician, physician's assistant, nurse practitioner, or registered dietitian. The medical statement must include:
An explanation of the child's dietary restriction;
An explanation of what must be done to accommodate the child; and
The food or foods to be omitted and recommended alternatives, if appropriate.
Please give the signed medical statement to the Food Service Manager at your student’s school or email it to Callie Nickles at [email protected]. Unfortunately, if we do not receive a signed medical statement, we may not be able to provide the substitutions your child needs.
Soy Milk
Soy milk is available for students who cannot drink cow's milk due to a milk allergy, lactose intolerance, ethical or religious beliefs, or other special dietary needs. Parents/guardians must provide a written request for the soy milk substitution. A medical statement is not required.
