Prince William County Public Schools (PWCS) offers summer employment opportunities for students, teachers, and support staff. Review the information below for position requirements, application instructions, and program dates.

Student Employment Opportunities

Student Intern – Teacher's Aide

To be eligible for the Student Intern - Teacher's Aide position, applicants must:

  • Be 16 or older by June 18, 2026.

  • Complete the PWCS Summer School Classified application.

  • Provide one reference from a teacher or school administrator familiar with performance.

    • When completing the reference section of the application, provide an email address for the person you want to provide a reference for you. All references will automatically receive an email with an electronic reference form to complete (preferred method) when the application is submitted.

    • Optional - Provide your reference(s) with the PWCS Student Summer Employment Reference Form (PDF) for them to complete. Applicants must bring the completed form to the job fair.

  • Attend the Student Intern - Teacher's Aid job fair at Colgan High School on Monday, March 23, 2026, at 5:30-6:30 p.m.

  • Bring a printed copy of the completed job application, completed reference form and a completed Summer School Location Selection Form (printed versions only).

Teachers & Support Staff Employment Opportunities

Available summer school positions are being posted by location on the PWCS Job Posting website.

Note: Current PWCS employees do not need to upload additional documentation when completing the job application.

Certified Teachers, Librarians, Counselors, Social Workers

Teacher Assistants, Administrative Assistants, Office Assistants

All applicants must:

  • Meet job specific requirements as listed in the job posting
  • Complete the Summer School Classified application
  • Apply for the specific positions and locations of interest
  • Provide a professional reference from your most recent supervisor
    • If you include your supervisor's email in your application, they will automatically receive an email with an electronic reference form. Once the form is completed, it will be instantly uploaded to your application profile (preferred method)
    • Or you can provide your supervisor with the paper reference form (PDF). They can complete and forward the form to the PWCS Talent Acquisition and Employment Department.

Other Support Staff (Security,  Attendance Officer, Parent Liaison, Testing Coordinator)

All applicants must:

  • Must currently perform the role in PWCS to apply
  • Meet job specific requirements as listed in the job posting
  • Complete the Summer School Classified application
  • Apply for the specific positions and locations of interest
