PWCS summer programs are available to support students' on-time graduation in grades 9-12.
High school students should talk with their school counselor about which program best fits them.
Students in grades 9-11 who have failed a course may take up to two high school courses for repeat (recovery) credit or one 2-week SOL remediation at no cost.
Seniors who are not on track to graduate in June, but are capable of graduating in July with additional targeted support, may earn additional verified credits to satisfy diploma requirements and graduate this summer.

Students will be enrolled in the second course once they have shown completion of the first course. Students must complete the first course by July 10, 2026 to start a second course.
High school students in grades 9-11 seeking a course for first-time credit can explore Virtual Prince William (VPW) for online course options. Please visit the Virtual Prince William website for more information.
Students should speak with their school counselor to determine the best course or test to register for with the available summer options. Please note that these courses are not approved for NCAA eligibility. Students should utilize Virtual Prince William or Virtual Virginia.

Students may not have more than three cumulative absences or 15 hours of the 17-day program to receive credit for the course taken. Students are expected to attend daily and complete all tests in person until they complete their coursework. We ask that all students and parents take summer schedules, jobs, athletics, activities, and plans into consideration prior to registering.
Grades will be calculated following the guidelines outlined in Prince William County Public Schools' grading regulation. Students taking courses for credit recovery will receive a pass or fail. Students taking courses for initial credit will receive a letter grade of A-F.
Please note: Students who withdraw between June 29, 2026, and July 2, 2026, can do so without a grade penalty. Students who withdraw between July 6, 2026, and July 17, 2026, will receive a mark of withdrawn failing (WF) or withdrawn passing (WP). Students who withdraw after July 17, 2026, will receive a mark of Fail (F).
Shuttle transportation service is provided to either Potomac High School or Unity Reed High School. Students attending school can provide their own transportation or take advantage of shuttle services available. Bus numbers and times will be published in June.

Students in grades 9-12 who have passed a high school level tested course but need to achieve a passing score on the associated Virginia SOL test(s) can participate in a remediation program at no charge. At the end of this course, students will retake the end-of-course SOL test. Students cannot register for a credit recovery course and SOL remediation.
Students who have passed a high school level tested course but need to achieve a passing score on the associated Virginia SOL test(s) can register to take an end-of-course SOL test. Students in grades 9-12 can participate in a remediation program in the courses below at no charge. At the end of the first week, students will retake the end-of-course SOL test, and if needed, continue with remediation the second week and retake the end-of-course SOL.
SOL remediation and testing will be offered at Potomac High School and Unity Reed High School.

Students who have passed a high school level tested course but need to achieve a passing score on the associated Virginia SOL test(s) can register to take an end-of-course SOL test. This is the administration of the SOL test only and does not include remediation before testing.
Students should have scored at least a 375 on their first attempt to register for the Test Only Option.
SOL remediation and testing will be offered at Potomac High School and Unity Reed High School.
