At its meeting on October 21, 2020, the Prince William County School Board unanimously approved the committee recommendation to name the Division's newest middle school "Potomac Shores Middle School." The new school is scheduled to open in August 2021 and is located at 17851 Woods View Drive in Dumfries. The chosen name earned overwhelming community support during an input session and survey held by the naming committee in September 2020.
