Monday, November 27, 2023 – Foundry's Computerworld has named Prince William County Public Schools (PWCS) as a 2024 Best Place to Work in IT, including ranking ninth in diversity among large organizations. This award recognizes the top organizations that challenge their IT staff while providing great benefits and compensation. The Best Places to Work in IT list is an annual ranking of the top work environments for technology professionals by Foundry's Computerworld.
The list is compiled based on a comprehensive questionnaire regarding company offerings in categories such as benefits, career development, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), future of work, training, and retention. In addition, the rankings are reviewed and vetted by a panel of industry experts.
“We are honored that PWCS has been named a Best Place to Work in IT by Computerworld,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. LaTanya D. McDade. “It is testament to the incredible dedication and hard work our technology staff members demonstrate every day in support of students, colleagues, and families.”
The PWCS Office of the Chief Information Officer (CIO) encompasses professionals in the areas of information security, instructional technology and learning, workstation support and inventory, data and software application governance, student data management, networking and telephony, cloud and colocation management, website and social media, multi-media development, communications, and community engagement.
“PWCS Office of the CIO staff are incredibly dedicated to the mission of serving students, and as an employer, we are as dedicated to ensuring they have the benefits and opportunities necessary to thrive on a personal and professional level,” said PWCS Chief Information Officer Matt Guilfoyle. “We are proud of the talent pipeline we have created from PWCS high school graduate to PWCS senior management, as well as the diversity of our staff.”
