Dear PWCS Families, Employees, and Community,

We are thrilled to invite all students and their parents to our upcoming Career Fair held at Woodbridge High School from 5 - 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 7. This is a chance to meet face-to-face with industry professionals, gain invaluable insights into various careers, and discover the knowledge and skills needed to launch thriving futures. I also want to extend an invitation to our local businesses to partner with PWCS and help us deliver the promise for tomorrow.

Throughout March, PWCS celebrates several observances, including National Arts Education Month, which encompasses Music in Our Schools, Theatre in Our Schools, and Youth Art Month. Our schools prepare and produce shows, musical concerts, art galleries, and more while our teachers cultivate our students' unique talents and develop transferable skill sets.

Because we value arts instruction, our Strategic Plan set a goal of increasing student access to performance and production opportunities like auditions, concerts, and exhibitions. We invite you to the All-County Elementary Arts Festival on Saturday, March 2 at the Kelly Leadership Building, to attend an upcoming arts event, and to promote the importance of the arts with your students.

March is also Women’s History Month, and this year’s theme is “Women Who Advocate for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.” Advocating for yourself and others takes an immense amount of courage, but together, women are positively impacting our future landscape. Be sure to look for features from the division as our schools, staff members, and students celebrate the contributions of women in our collective history.

I am continually amazed by the innovative and creative learning that occurs every school day. Our teachers make the conscious effort to weave multiple voices into our curriculum for a more informed, inclusive, and interconnected educational experience for our students. I invite you to watch one outstanding example of the seamless intertwining of Black History, Women’s History, and National Arts Education Month.

As a reminder, there will be no school for students on Tuesday, March 5, for the presidential primary. We look forward to seeing all our students on Monday morning. Have a restful weekend.

Sincerely,
