The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Foundation has recognized Prince William County Public Schools (PWCS) as one of the Best Communities for Music Education for the fifth year in a row. Now in its 25th year, the NAMM Best Communities for Music Education designation is awarded to school divisions that demonstrate outstanding achievement for providing music access and education to all students.  

“I am so proud of the PWCS community for prioritizing arts education for our students. The entire community (teachers, students, parents, administrators, and partners) deserves applause for once again being recognized by the NAMM Foundation as a Best Community for Music Education. Our amazing teachers and staff place our students first by creating inclusive, engaging spaces that support learning and achievement for all,” said Dr. Annamarie Bollino, PWCS supervisor of the arts. 

To qualify for the Best Communities designation, PWCS answered detailed questions about funding, graduation requirements, music class participation, instruction time, facilities, support for the music program and community music-making programs. Responses were verified by school officials and reviewed by The Music Research Institute at the University of Kansas.
