A PWCS high school senior and a U.S. Navy recruiter sign a commitment form at the 2024 Career and Technical Education Signing Day

Dear PWCS Families, Employees, and Community,

We are nearing the end of our 2023-24 school year and our high school graduation celebrations are well underway. Students at The Governor’s School graduated last week, and I am looking forward to attending many more of our ceremonies in recognition of this important milestone in our students' lives.

While I am not able to join every graduation, year-end celebration, or promotion ceremony, I am truly proud of all our students, teachers, staff, and families for their commitment to see every student graduate on time with the knowledge, skills, and habits of mind necessary to create a thriving future for themselves and their community.

PWCS ensures every graduate has a postsecondary plan for their future success. At our Signing Day ceremony, on May 21, we celebrated our graduating seniors who earned an apprenticeship, full-time employment, or committed to military service. An additional congratulations to Skye Auger, senior at Osbourn Park High School, who was recently recognized as a 2024 National Merit Scholarship winner.

I also wish to congratulate our recent PWCS retirees, who served faithfully as trusted partners in education with our students, families, and community. At Tuesday night’s Retirement Ceremony held at Patriot High School, I had the honor of recognizing our decorated PWCS professionals who have served with excellence over multiple decades. To all our PWCS retirees, we congratulate you on the living legacy you have left behind and wish you well in your next chapter.

As a reminder, June 7 is the last day of school and will be an early-release day. I hope you enjoy the long Memorial Day weekend. I express my sincere gratitude and thanks to all U.S. military personnel and families who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service of this great nation.

Sincerely,
