Standards of Accreditation Payments
2024-25
The Virginia Standards of Accreditation (8VA20-131-240) require school divisions to compensate middle and high school teachers whose student counts exceed stated weekly limits. Those limits are 200 students for music and physical education teachers and 150 for non-music and non-physical education teachers. The chart represents the combined compensation for first and second semester.

Eligibility for the second semester compensation will be determined by averaging the teacher-student count totals from third quarter (March 3) with totals from fourth quarter (May 5). The anticipated payout date for the second semester is June 13, 2025.
Teachers teaching a sixth section are eligible for additional compensation if their student count totals exceed 240 students for music and physical education, and 180 students for non-music and non-physical education teachers.
