We need Cashiers, Sales Associates, Customer Service Reps, Concessionaires, Attendant I, Food & Beverage Supervisors, and Aquatic Attendants for Summer 2022.

Aquatics

Note: All Lifeguard positions require the successful completion of Ellis & Associates certifications classes through the PWC Department of Parks, Recreation & Tourism. Scheduling for these classes will be discussed at your interview.

AQUATIC ATTENDANT I Waterslides/Pool Deck (age 16+)

Dispatches riders at the top of waterslides and ensures safety of guests in and around aquatic attractions; CPR and First Aid Certifications before the first day of work. (SD, WW, VP) $11/hour

HEAD LIFEGUARD (age 16+)

Ensures safety and cleanliness of the park and performs routine maintenance on the pool and filter system; ensures safety of guests and staff through the enforcement of safe operating procedures. Duties include training, scheduling and supervising staff. (VP, CHN, SBDCRC, SD, WW) $20.43/hour

LIFEGUARD I (age 15+)

Ensures patron safety in an aquatic environment; responsible for responding to emergency situations as needed. (CHN, SBDCRC, VP, SD, WW, HM, BD, GP) $13.78/hour

LIFEGUARD II/ POOL OPERATOR (age 16+)

Ensures the safety of patrons of an aquatic facility by preventing and responding to emergencies, performing routine maintenance on pool and filter system and ensuring proper water chemistry. One year of lifeguarding experience. (SBDCRC, WW, BD, VP, SD, HM, GP) $16.25/hour

WATER SAFETY INSTRUCTOR/AQUATICS INSTRUCTOR (age 16+)

Instructs American Red Cross learn-to-swim programs. Requires American Red Cross WSI certification. (CHN, SBDCRC) $18.94/hour

WATERPARK SUPERVISOR

Assists the Park Manager in directing daily operations of the aquatic facility; assists with the supervision of food service, aquatic/lifeguard and/or site support staff. Requires a combination of education and experience equivalent to two years supervisory, cash handling, aquatic and/or customer service experience. Valid Ellis & Associates license required. (BD, WW, SD, GP, HM) $20.43/hour

Food Service

HEAD CONCESSIONAIRE (age 16+)

Responsible for accurately completing sales transactions, proper cash controls at cash registers, dispensing food in concessions and staff supervision. Cash handling experience preferred. (VP, SD, WW) $16.25/hour

CONCESSIONAIRE (age 15+)

Performs cash handling and food dispensing in concessions at a seasonal waterpark. (VP, SD, WW, BD) $12.31/hour

CONCESSIONS COOK (age 16+)

Operates grills, fryers, and hood ventilation systems. Short Order Cook experience preferred. Also performs cashier duties and food dispensing in concessions as needed. (SD, WW) $12.31/hour

ATTENDANT I (age 14+)

Responsible for dispensing food in concessions, set up, break down, serving of parties/events, working as waiter/waitress, food runner and park attendant for events. Maintains cleanliness of park, restrooms and pavilions. Cleaning bathrooms, dumping trash, trash runs to dumpsters, checking pavilions, cleaning and maintaining park grounds. Works welcome table, funfests, caterings, assisting with birthday parties when needed. (SD) $11/hour

FOOD AND BEVERAGE/WATERPARK SUPERVISOR (age 16+)

Supervises food service, aquatics and site support staff, oversees daily operations in one of several concessions areas and is responsible for food and beverage inventory control, product rotation, managing stock deliveries of food and beverage items, and organizing and preparing for catered events. Supervises and trains seasonal staff. Requires diploma/GED and two years supervisory or food & beverage experience. (SD, WW) $20.43/hour

PARK ATTENDANT I (age 14+)

Maintains cleanliness of park, restrooms and pavilions. (SD, LSP) $11/hour

FACILITY ATTENDANT III (age 14+)

Responsible for supervision of batting cage, golf and dock staff and assisting in park operations to include customer service cash handling, cleaning, and enforcement of facility rules and regulations. Facility Attendants should have experience working on a team and demonstrate a high level of safety awareness and good communication skills. Must have two seasons of experience. Requires CPR and First Aid certifications. (LSP, LRP) $12.31/hour

CASHIER (age 15+)

Provides a high level of customer service, responsible for handling cash drawer, counts and opens cash drawer, intakes guest orders, sells daily passes, processes coupons, credit card transactions and accounts for drawer at the end of shift. Prior customer service, sales and cash handling experience preferred. (GP, VP, WW, SD) $12.31/hour

DOCK ATTENDANT II (age 14+)

Maintains cleanliness of boats and assists with dock operations. CPR and First Aid certifications required; customer service experience preferred. (LRP, LSP) $11/hour

GOLF ATTENDANT I (age 14+)

Assists in carrying out program plans and activities, monitors the activities, safety and security of customers. Sets up equipment or materials needed for an activity and cleans up after program. Keeps supplies and equipment neat and organized. Provides excellent customer service. $11/hour

PARK RANGER AIDE (age 21+)

Assists Park Rangers and the General Manager in conducting safety patrols of park property; provides information to park visitors and assists with traffic control. Two years customer service experience needed. Must have a valid Virginia driver's license, safe driving record, and an approved Criminal Records check. $16.25/hour

HEAD CASHIER (age 17+)

Provides a high level of customer service, performs a high level of cash handling, sells tickets to customers, accepts and scans tickets, counts down all drawers and balances against reports. Prior customer service and 3 years cash handling preferred. (SD, WW) $16.25/hour

SALES ASSOCIATE II (age 16+)

Coordinates retail, group, and birthday sales and processes season pass sales. Serves as customer service contact for guests. Collects payments, issues passes and tickets, answers questions about season pass program. Assists customers with complaints and problems, answers questions, provides assistance and ensures that needs are met. (SD) $11/hour

Specialized Skills

SPECIALTY INSTRUCTORS (age 18+)

Skills in various sports or adventure programs and previous teaching or coaching experience. (Countywide) Pay varies by program

Camps

All camp positions require a high school diploma or GED, CPR and first aid training before the first day of employment; excellent communication skills and at least 6 months of age appropriate experience with children in a group setting. Employment is contingent upon satisfactory results of a criminal history record check, central registry check and TB test.

HEAD CAMP COUNSELOR (age 19+)

Works closely with camp managers to ensure camper/counselor safety, a high level of customer service, responsible for activity implementation/coordination, supervision of staff, monitoring day to day camp operations and administrative functions associated with implementing a camp program; must be able to work within a team setting to accomplish program goals. Supervisory skills and 1 year of age appropriate experience. (LRP, BD, PWFP, BL, SL, VP) $20.43/hour

ASSISTANT HEAD COUNSELOR (age 19+)

Assists with the supervising of counselors, children and activities to ensure proper and safe program operation. Works with Head Counselor to plan and design activities and schedules. Monitors activities to inform supervisors of concerns or issues, enforces camper disciplinary policies and procedures. (LRP, BD, PWFP, BL, SL, VP) $16.25/hour

CAMP COUNSELOR (age 18+)

Responsible for the daily supervision, daily activity planning, safety, and group management. Camp Counselors must be able to work within a team setting to accomplish program goals. (Countywide) $16.25/hour

BEFORE AND AFTER CAMP COUNSELOR (age 18+)

Responsible for supervision of children before camp (6 a.m.-9 a.m.) and after camp (5 p.m.-7 p.m.), safety, and group management. Requires at least six months of age-appropriate experience in a group setting. (SBDCRC, CHN) $16.25/hour

INCLUSION AIDE (age 18+)

Experience working with special needs children in structured settings/programs; works within our camp program and partners with other counselors/groups; responsible for making necessary accommodations and behavior modifications; provides a high level of communication; must have knowledge of special needs, provide a high level of customer service, problem solving, work independently, have good communications skills. (Countywide) $16.25/hour
