How to Pay for Meals

PWCS offers a number of options for paying for student meals.

Free and Reduced-Price Meals

  • All students at 44 schools will receive free breakfast and lunch during the 2023-24 school year as part of the Community Eligibility Program.
  • Families with students who attend schools not in the Community Eligibility Program can apply to receive free and reduced-price school meals online.

Paying for Meals

  1. Students can bring a check to school to load to their meals account. Checks should be given to the cafeteria manager and be made out to the "Prince William County Public School's Food and Nutrition Department."
  2. Parents/guardians can use MySchoolBucks.com to fund their student's meals account.
  3. Students can pay cash each day.

We recognize that occasionally a parent may inadvertently overdraw a checking account and a check may be returned by the bank. If a check is returned by the bank, the amount of the check will be removed from the student's account – potentially resulting in a negative balance for the student's account. No fee will be charged by Prince William County Public Schools for processing the returned check. We will make every attempt to handle these situations in a private and professional manner.
