Specialty Programs

Specialty programs focus on career exploration, subject area concentration, and college/university preparation. Prince William County Public Schools provides excellent opportunities for students in elementary, middle, and high school to explore a wide variety of special programs in our schools. These specialty programs give students the chance to investigate careers ranging from building trades to advanced computer science.

High School Programs

High school students can choose from Advanced Academics, Specialty, and Career and Technical Education (CTE) Programs. Students participating in these programs can earn certifications, licenses, or other professional credentials in an area of study. Students can choose from programs tailored to their strengths and interests as they prepare for post-secondary experiences, whether they plan to enter the workforce directly, seek additional training, or enroll in a post-secondary institution.

Middle School Programs

Nine middle schools in PWCS offer Specialty Programs. These programs are available by application. Offerings include the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme, Mathematics and Science, Same Gender Program, World Languages, and Traditional Schools.

Elementary School Programs

PWCS offers a variety of Specialty Programs at the elementary level. These programs are available by application. Offerings include the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme, World Languages, and Traditional Schools.
